Actually should add another S onto this one: sorta STUPID strange simple significant social sites.  If you’re new to our blog and haven’t been following us, you can get all of the SSSSSS (sorta strange simple significant social sites…for backlinks) posts under the “Traffic Generation” category.

There are  some doozies in there that you won’t want to miss! Really…we mean it…we’re serious…go get the rest of them  right after you read this post.

This is a tactic for finding/creating  social site backlinks  that you almost never hear about.  At least I haven’t.  Maybe it’s because the sites that are ranking on the first pages of Google don’t want you to know about.

For this one you’re going to have to download one other tool (if you don’t already have it).  It’s SEO for Firefox which is a toolbar browser that sits on the bottom of your webpages.  I’m pretty sure you have to be using Firefox for this one (sorry…haven’t been on any other browsers for such a long time that I don’t keep up with IE or any others…but I’m pretty sure you need Firefox).

If you aren’t already using Firefox then you can download their browser right here.   Once you’ve download Firefox, you need to open that browser to download SEO For Firefox..right here.

SEO for Firefox has many uses and applications which you’ll figure out quickly the more you use this tool.  The use we want to  talk about here is how to spy on your competitors links, so that you can follow their lead and build your own free links on the same sites they are building free links.

Once you’ve installed SEO For Firefox (and have it turned on), do a Google search for your own niche keywords.  When the search results come up, you’ll notice that this little tool will show you the top sites page ranks,  age of domain, traffic value, etc.

This free tool can tell you lots of information  about your competitors.  Click on the “Traffic Value” and it will show you the keywords they are using to get traffic plus their closest competitors keywords.  You can take that information and do a lot with it.

However, the SSSSSS (sorta strange simple significant social sites for backlinks) we’re going to use here is to find out what other sites your competitors are linking to and HOW they’re linking to them.  Click on their “Y! Links” and you’ll get a list of all the sites they are linked to.  Go to those sites, and if they’re free sites you can add your own links too!

If they are commenting on blogs, then post your comment too.  If they are linking to free traffic sites…go for it!  Add your links too.  I’ve been able to find lots of forums, blogs, etc. to link to just by following my competitors using SEO For Firefox.    My competitors lead me to their social site links and blog links and I just follow their lead.

After much searching with paid and free tools, and search manipulations, I still would never have found the same simple link sites that these Google leaders were using.  Seriously…I wonder how they even found them.  Maybe that’s why they’re #1 and #2 on Google.

Your competitors have been able to rank in Google for some reason or another, and it’s up to you to find out why and follow them.  With SEO For Firefox you can find out tons of information about your competitors, follow their lead…and COPY THEM, COPY THEM, COPY THEM.

Whoever it is they are linking to, or whatever it is they are doing…you need to be doing it too.   Click on “Complete.com Uniques” and it will give you all of their keyword analytics that are driving traffic to their site.

You may have heard of SEO For Firefox before, and you may have even downloaded it.  But are you really using it to achieve higher rankings in Google? Lots of internet marketers will tell you about this tool, but they don’t really explain to you how you can most benefit from it.

Take a look at who your competitors are linking to (link to them yourself).  Find out how they’re posting on other social sites like Delicious and Digg and Stumbleupon,  and follow their lead.

Very simply put, you can do everything your competitors are doing just by downloading SEO for Firefox and following them around all over the internet.

Kinda sneaky isn’t it?  Almost makes you feel a little guilty, like you’re cheating on a test and you’re going to get caught.  Almost gives me chills as I write this, thinking about the people who may have “caught” me following them around and linking to the same sites they thought were “privy” to them!  Ha..ha….

No worries!  It’s all legit.  You need to learn how to spy on your competitors, and at the same time spy on Google in a way,  to know how to achieve higher rankings and outrank your worthiest competitors.  Let your leaders show you how they’re doing it, then do what they do.   You’ll be saving yourself lots of time, and sometimes lots of money, by just using this “Follow The Leader” linking strategy.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day To everyone!

Don’t forget to post your comments on SEO for Firefox and any other SSSSSS that you are using in your marketing and traffic generation.  We have “do follow” for your links plus we use “Comment Luv” for extra link juice to your most recent blog posts.
